During maturation, the Mettwurst naturally loses moisture. This gives it its firm texture and characteristic flavour.

The natural loss of moisture may cause the weight to vary slightly from one sausage to another. These variations are a normal part of the maturation process.

The Mettwurst does not require refrigeration and can be stored like a traditional firm cured sausage.

The Mettwurst does not require refrigeration and can be stored like a traditional firm cured sausage.

For best results, store it in a dry place away from direct heat and sunlight.

As a fresh slice is cut off every day, the cut surface does not need to be additionally covered.

Just Before You Enjoy It

Before eating, please remove both outer layers.

First, remove the decorative Christmas wrapping. Underneath, there is an additional non-edible artificial casing, which must also be removed.

Neither layer is suitable for consumption.

A Little Advent Tip

A sharp knife will give you particularly neat slices.

How thick those slices are is entirely up to you. After all, there is no official thickness for Christmas anticipation.
