Our philosophy: Quality, responsibility & passion

Quality over quantity!

A clear vision

Pieter Maat , an experienced livestock dealer with roots in agriculture, and Thomas Telaar , managing director of the renowned slaughterhouse in Perleberg, are the founders of the successful brand Kauf Dein Steak.

Together, they pursue a clear vision: a transparent and respectful value chain from farm to fork. The underlying motto: Quality over quantity!

Kauf Dein Steak is much more than just an online shop for high-quality meat. It is the result of a close collaboration between two entrepreneurs who have been committed to improving quality, regionality, and animal welfare for years.

Our attitude, our promise

Whether it's meat or cheese: At Kauf Dein Steak, quality begins with attitude – both ethically and literally. Our work is characterized by responsibility, respect, and genuine passion for animals, nature, and people.

Around 50 experienced employees ensure every day that every animal is treated respectfully and processed professionally. This results in high-quality products with maximum freshness and the finest flavor, all with a great deal of know-how, care, and responsibility.

From the farmer to the final product – everything from a single source with a lot of heart and craftsmanship.

Fair production, responsible and in artisanal quality

Why Kauf Dein Steak exists

Kauf Dein Steak was founded to make meat what it should be: a high-quality product from fair production, produced responsibly and with true craftsmanship.

Through the direct connection of livestock trading , our own slaughtering and in-house sales, Kauf Dein Steak creates a closed production chain with maximum transparency - without middlemen, without compromises.

Species-appropriate housing, conscientious care and careful feeding

Animal welfare begins on the pasture

Product quality and animal welfare are top priorities when buying your steak
Only through species-appropriate husbandry, conscientious care, and careful feeding of the cattle can we guarantee the highest level of product quality that can be tasted and seen.

The cattle are transported to the slaughterhouse using modern vehicles over short distances, in accordance with animal welfare standards and with as little stress as possible, as is appropriate for responsible animal handling.

For the love of cheese

A heartfelt project: Ostsee-Kaas

In addition to meat, managing director Pieter Maat is also particularly passionate about cheese. Our Ostsee-Kaas (Ostsee Cheese) is a project he initiated with considerable personal commitment. The goal was to increase appreciation for cheese as a product, and especially for dairy cows, whose milk is far too often viewed as a commodity.

The Ostsee-Kaas is made from the milk of the dairy cows of the dairy farm
Am Recknitztal
, a company with which Pieter Maat has been closely associated for years.

The further processing is carried out by the Swiss cheesemaker Robert Scheuer, who produces the cheese in a small Dutch village in the traditional way – with experience, sensitivity and respect for the raw material.
