The ingredients
One Hokkaido pumpkin
250g feta
Feta cheese spice mix
olive oil
The preparation
The pumpkin can be prepared on the grill or in the oven. The oven must be heated to approximately 180 degrees.
Cut off the top of the washed Hokkaido pumpkin, and if it's not standing upright, make a cut along the bottom as well to prevent it from tipping over in the oven. Next, use a large tablespoon to remove the core. You don't have to throw away the seeds; you can roast them in the oven and enjoy them as a snack or with your meal.
Once the pumpkin is completely hollowed out, it's time for the feta. Simply dice it finely and season generously with our feta cheese blend and a little olive oil. If desired, you can add some fresh chili. A little of the spice mix is also added to the pumpkin. Once everything is well blended, add the feta.
The stuffed pumpkin can now sit in the oven/grill for about 30 minutes – but without the cut-off lid, as this would burn. The lid is replaced after 30 minutes and allowed to cook for the remaining 15 minutes. After this time, the pumpkin should be soft and ready to enjoy.
You can easily tell if it's ready by checking whether it's already soft. This can vary depending on the size and thickness of the pumpkin.
Side dishes & drinks
The pumpkin can be served with some onions. For meat lovers, bacon strips are also a good option.
